I, like many other crystal junkies, am the proud owner of hundreds of different varieties of

crystals. They are all special to me and yes, I do use them all - for healing, protection, abundance, enhancing my intuition or simply for relaxing and meditating. After working with crystals for over 30 years, I have found that there are 7 basic crystals that pretty much cover all of your needs. These 7 crystals are also easy to attain and are very affordable which make them even more appealing to the metaphysically curious person. 

The 7 Basic Crystals

1. Clear Quartz - This crystal does it all! It enhances, restores, and regulates energy. It helps activate your psychic abilities, amplifies the energy of other crystals, stimulates the immune system, and aligns the chakras. I use clear quartz to energize my other crystals and to give my own energy a boost when I feel a little tired. I also keep a clear quartz in my car to improve my gas mileage.

2. Amethyst - Another crystal that has many useful properties. I use amethyst to help me relax, sleep, meditate, open my crown chakra, overcome unhealthy habits such as; eating too much sugary foods or drinking too much caffeine. Amethyst is great for breaking unhealthy addictions, brings in peace and balance, not only is it a psychic protection stone, but it also protects the user from thieves and it protects travelers.

3. Rose Quartz - Rose quartz is often used for healing emotional trauma and wounding. it has a gentle and loving energy that helps the user connect with unconditional love for self as well as others. I also use black tourmaline to keep me grounded in my meditation so that I remember my meditation experiences. It guards against the influences of overly emotional and toxic people so that you do not take on their energy empathically. To Use Metaphysical Tools Or Not ~ That Is The Question

I have gone back and forth with the question do these candles work? What about the crystals? Does sage really clear the energy? This may raise a few eyebrows since I do own a metaphysical shop where these items are sold. 
I have had dialogue with a few people and here is the responses I have received:

• You do not need tools. You can go straight to source. These are just things.
• All of these tools crystals, herbs etc. have been put here on earth so they have value and purpose.

After going within for the answer I was guided by my guide who shared this with me.

"Does it really matter what one thinks or believes? What matters most is what you know to work in your heart. Yes, the crystals all have vibration and healing powers as well as consciousness as do the herbs. Medicine has been created through these herbs and crystals are put into acupuncture needles to help intensity the healing. Scientifically this has been proven. What you want is an absolute answer. You will not get one answer. There are many personal truths. Asking a question like this is like asking what is the best color in the spectrum? There are different personal preferences. What you also may take into consideration is this ~ what does each crystal mean for you? The descriptions and healing properties do vary. One citrine may not work for abundance by itself for one person.They may also need another stone such as an apache tear first to help them move through their emotional wounding. The answer you are looking for is within you. Find people to talk to about these subjects who are like-minded and open to contemplation. This will be like a stepping stone to help you raise your consciousness, which is the ultimate goal for your time here on earth. These tools are comprised of the elements of the earth: earth, water, air, fire and spirit. YOU are comprised of earth, water, air, fire and spirit. Why would these elemental healing tools not have an effect on you unless you cancelled them out by negating their frequency. Use your candles to light the way, use your water to cleanse your auric field, use your herbs to heal your skin and organs. Use crystals to heal your broken heart. Use the incense to stimulate the sense of smell to shift your emotions. When smelling roses does this not open your heart? I have given you plenty to think upon. Do your own research if you must. First go within and honor your own personal truth. Be open to what others may have to say then weigh this with your heart. You then may decide if this rings true for you." 

And there you have it ~ I will use my crystals, candles, sage and herbs because I feel and know they work for me :) I welcome comments and suggestions to this subject.

As a side note, my spirit guide has been nudging me to bring her through more with my writing and channelling. Ray Sette has met her through a personal session I had with him last week. This was my own personal validation it is time to allow her to come through for others as well. She has much more to share as more knowledge is wanting to come through.

Her name is Althea and she says her presence can be felt by all who work with me as well as read my channellings. I also welcome feedback as to how she comes through for others. I know what and how she comes through for me. I am intrigued as how she reveals herself to others.

Altars

An altar is a focus point, an honoring of the divine when we would like to connect to Spirit for prayer, ritual, ceremony or for healing. 

I have included a photo from last night's Reiki Circle with Pam. This altar was created with the intention of honoring the Divine Mother. 
Here are some suggestions of how to create an altar ~

• An altar can be created on a table, on the floor, outside in a garden, on a dresser, on a counter, in a drawer
• When creating an altar it helps to be reverent. Taking the time to center  yourself. Sage and clear the environment
• Take your time gathering the items to go on your altar. You would not want to just throw it together
• Make sure all the items mean something to you
• More is not always better
• Pictures are great focal points
• Have a representation of all of the elements 
• Air is the direction of  the East, a feather, an oil, a bell (something for sound) a stick of incense. Bring in Archangel Raphael, Eagle represents the East as well
• Fire is the direction of the South, a candle, copper, Archangel Michael stands in the South, the Wolf is in the South as well
• Water is the direction of the West, a shell, a dish of water, Archangel Gabriel stands in the West and the Bear holds the space there as well
• Earth is the direction of the North, grass, plants, flowers, sea salt, cornmeal, Archangel Uriel holds the space for the North, a picture of your Ancestors can go here as well, the Buffalo is in the North too
• You can also place crystals that represent the elements as well
• I create altars for different occasions, holidays and intentions 
• I usually place a candle or crystal in the center as a focal point

Once you allow yourself to be open to your creativity, creating altars can be extremely powerful. 

Keep your eyes open for new altar pieces, you never know where you will find that special stone, book, feather and or picture

My Favorite Crystal of the Month!

This month I am loving the new crystal I was sent by accident ~ green obsidian. In actuality I was ordering yellow obsidian but happily to my surprise they sent me green obsidian. 

It was if a gift was sent from the heavens!!

After some research I learned these are the qualities the green obsidian possesses:

• Opens up the heart chakra, pure heart energy
• Releases trapped energy that no longer serve your highest good
• Helps free you from toxic, draining people and situations. 
• Helps you create personal boundaries
• Gives people a sense of personal power (a great giveaway to those who are clingy)
• Great stone for Lightworkers and Healers
• Is a stone of protection and was often used for arrowheads and weapons

This stone has been selling like crazy! I have a hard time keeping it in stock.

What can you do with this stone which is made out of volcanic lava?

• Hold it in your hand during meditation 
• Hold it during stressful times
• Place it on the body as a healing layout
• Gift it to someone who is needing to tap into their own personal power
• Keep it in your pocket or ladies in your bra 
• Place it by your bedside or in a high-stressful area, even in a desk drawer
