8 Simple and Easy Ways To Explore Your Past Lives

How many past lives have I had? Who was I in my past life? Why do we come back again and again? Is the current issue I am dealing with related to one of my past lives? These are just a few of the questions clients ask me during their private sessions. The subject of reincarnation is fascinating to many. I do have the ability to see a person’s past lives but I prefer to guide the individuals as they discover their past lives on their own. There  are countless ways you can access past life information. Today I will share with you 8 ways you can explore your past lives. The information that can be uncovered through a past life regression can help one understand where fears, strengths, interests as well as beliefs may have originated from.

8 Easy Ways to Explore Your Past Lives

  1. Schedule a session with a trained hypnotherapist or past life regression specialist.
  2. Listen to a guided past life regression by either Brian Weiss or Dick Sutphen.
  3. Paying attention to your dreams. Often past life memories come through our dreams. Keeping a journal by your bed will help you sort out the messages you are receiving in the dream state. Before going to bed, ask your Higher Self to reveal to you past life experiences that will be helpful to you in your current life.
  4. A regular meditation practice will help you uncover information by asking questions about one past life at a time ahead of time and allowing yourself the natural process of understanding and remembering the information that will come through meditation.
  5. You can schedule a session with a trusted psychic or skilled Akashic Record Reader. The Akashic Records exist on a dimension (plane of existence) that the stores the information for every individual who has ever lived upon the earth.
  6. Take a look at the skills that are effortless for you.  Do you excel in certain areas without any formal training?  For some people they are able to play an instrument, read music, speak another language or even weave a basket without any formal training. Chances are these abilities are carried over from another lifetime. Explore these talents further through one of the other techniques I have suggested.
  7. Trust in yourself with the information that you are receiving through the regression process. It will probably feel like you are making all of it up. You are probably receiving accurate details with the information that is coming through.
  8. A shamanic journey with a trained shaman can help you journey into your past lives. Often this type of journey is very healing because it can help you retrieve fragmented aspects of your soul that have experienced trauma from past life experiences. Please do take your time in seeking a practitioner. There are many wonderful and ethical practitioners out there but there are also some who are not the “real deal”.

A Little Advice to Help You Along The Way

  • Make sure the information and story “feels” right to you. A past life reader may say they “see” a certain lifetime and you aren’t sure the details resonates with you – listen to your gut feelings. If it doesn’t resonate, then leave that information out of the equation. Just because someone else says they are “seeing it”, it does not mean that what they are saying is accurate. It could even be that specific lifetime isn’t important to you in this experience. Trust yourself!
  • Some lifetimes aren’t pleasant ones and it may be more harmful than beneficial for your personal growth in this lifetime. In these cases, it is best to go to a trained professional in this field. How would you know if this is the case? You may have some resistance with your own meditations or even have anxiety about the whole reincarnation process.
  • Try to not over-analyze the information. Sometimes all of the pieces are not given to us in one session. We will receive the information at the pace that is for our highest and best good.
The most important lifetime is the one you are living now. We have the veil of forgetfulness put on us so that we can focus on one lifetime at a time. You are here to grow as the personality in the current life you are living now. Who you were before is not nearly as important as whom you are now. You are here to experience. Your past lives do affect you in this lifetime, and at the same time, this lifetime has influence on other lifetimes, past, present and future. I encourage you to use the wisdom you will gain from uncovering your other lives to empower and heal your soul in the here and now.

Astral Travel - Learn How To Do It Safely and Effectively

The ability to astral travel is a lot more common and easier to do than people may realize. We all leave our bodies during the night when we sleep. Just enough of our soul essence is left behind to keep the soul connected to the physical body to keep it alive and functioning. Often we leave our bodies during meditation as well. I love exploring the other realms of existence using astral travel as my means of transportation. Anyone can learn about astral travel, what is it and how to do it effectively.
Many of us are not even aware that we have already traveled in the astral realm The definition of astral travel or astral projection is:
  • Astral projection (or astral travel) is an interpretation of an out-of-body experience (OBE) that assumes the existence of an “astral body” separate from the physical body and capable of travelling outside it.

You Might Have Astral Traveled If…

  • You had dreams of flying.
  • You visit a new place and you feel as if you have been there before.
  • You meet with someone for the first time and they are familiar.
  • You share a dream with someone and they had the same dream experience.
  • You were able to view your body from the ceiling. Some people see the silver cord that keeps the astral and physical bodies connected.
  • You experience deja vu (deja vu is when you travel ahead in time, checkout the scenarios to select the outcome that best suits your soul’s path).
  • You have met with a teacher in your dream in a classroom setting.
  • You received information about upcoming events.
  • You had a visit with a deceased loved one.
People consciously astral travel for many different reasons. I suggest formulating an intention as to where you would like to go, who you would like to meet up with and what information you would like to attempt to retrieve.

Here are the most popular reasons why people astral travel:

  • To learn about themselves.
  • View past lives.
  • Meet with a spiritual teacher, ascended master or spirit guide.
  • To gain wisdom about just about anything from reincarnation, to healing, to how to communicate with pets.
  • Visit with crossed over loved ones.
  • Have an astral travel date with another like-minded spiritual buddy.
  • For personal healing.
The astral realm is infinite as to where you can go exploring. There are quite a few different approaches or techniques that people use to assist them with a safe and productive session. Personally, I prefer to use tools to enhance my experience. I love using candles, incense and or sage, playing music in the background and use crystals either to hold or place in my meditation room.

A sample of how I prepare for a sessions of astral travel for myself:

  1. First I make sure I am in a relaxed, calm state of mind and my emotions are in balance.
  2. I never meditate or astral travel on a full stomach. This can lead to a sluggish feeling and is difficult to relax and let go.
  3. I create my intention. (ex. It is my intention to travel to Egypt to see the pyramids of Giza) and write it down on paper.
  4. I always bring my guides for protection with me when I meditate, astral travel or do any spiritual work.
  5. I prefer to sit up when I meditate with my back straight and supported by the chair or wall.
  6. I begin with a prayer/intention and slowly go into a  meditative state.
  7. Sometimes I write and record my own meditation ahead of time and then play the meditation to guide me along my journey.
  8. After my meditation/journey is complete I thank spirit for the protection and guidance I received along my astral travels and then write down my experience in my journal.
Respecting other people’s boundaries while engaged in any psychic work is imperative! I strongly discourage anyone to use their psychic abilities to spy on anyone.

If you are interested in learning more about astral travel, I suggest seeking out a mentor who has experience in this area that can help you develop your astral traveling abilities.
Happy Traveling!

Psychic Attack - What It Is and How To Deflect It

It is quite possible that you may have been the victim of a psychic attack and were completely unaware that you were feeling the effects of that psychic attack.  A psychic attack is when an individual sends negative energy to manipulate intentionally or unconsciously to a person, place or thing for personal gain causing distress, pain and or havoc in the intended receiver’s life. Sometimes we know exactly where the attack is coming from and sometimes we are unable to pinpoint the source.
Psychic attacks can be sent out in different forms such as: negative thought forms, gossiping, black magic (spells), verbal abuse and trying to control others through emotional manipulation.
Signs of Psychic Attack

  • Headaches
  • Exhaustion
  • Nightmares
  • Experiencing the feeling being watched
  • Stabbing pain in the back
  • Feeling like you are in a fog
  • Quick sudden bursts of nausea
  • Depression or feeling overwhelmed

Ways To Deflect The Energy From A Psychic Attack

  • Wear gemstone jewelry that brings in light and deflects negativity such as: tiger’s eye, hematite, selenite, black obsidian and black onyx.
  • Take care of your physical health by getting plenty of rest, drinking lots of water and eating healthy foods.
  • Bathing and or washing your hands with sea salt or epson salt will clean and clear your auric field.
  • Set and keep healthy boundaries with others. Toxic situations and relationships can drain and overwhelm us.
  • Keep yourself grounded by spending time out in nature, schedule energy healing sessions (Reiki, cranio sacral therapy), eat plenty of rooted vegetables, and balance your chakra centers often.
  • Cut those unhealthy emotional cords with the following visualization;  See the bungee-like cords of energy extending from your solar plexus in front of you. Either visualize or physically take out a pair of scissors and cut those cords. Request that spirit help you release the cords that are keeping you connected to energy draining situations and relationships.
  • Be present and alert when interacting with others. Is your intuition telling you that something is off with someone? Listen and pay attention to your gut feelings.

Psychic attacks can easily be deflected by being aware of what the signs are and using some of the tips I suggested. No one can overpower us or take control of our lives without our consent. Self care and being aware of our own energy are the best defenses for keeping unwanted influences at bay.

Hermitting - Sometimes Being With Yourself Is The Best Company - Susan Dintino

    Hermitting

“Sometimes being with yourself is the best company.” Susan Dintino

You are probably wondering what the heck hermitting means. Well it is one of those poetic license things us authors use and basically a word that I have made up. It means to be with yourself by choice in solitude. It is nice to have loved ones near but I have learned to treasure my alone time. Not keeping a schedule or pace with anyone but myself. It gives me time to think, maybe reevaluate a thing or two and make some decisions. It can also be just about being. Have you ever tried hermitting?  If not make a date with yourself to be alone in quiet contemplation.  I think you will truly enjoy it.

The Do's and Don'ts During Mercury Retrograde

If you find yourself experiencing difficulty with getting projects started, communication
with others, and your electronics seem to be going haywire lately, it could be because Mercury is retrograde at this time. The planet Mercury went retrograde on January 5th and we will feel the effects until January 25th. Many of us, myself included, have blamed Mercury for our mishaps when it is retrograde. There are suggested do's and don'ts that can help you survive Mercury retrograde during this potential challenging time.

First, let's define what does Mercury retrograde mean? The planet Mercury rules communication, contracts, paperwork, travel, the mind/thoughts, and ideas. For about 3 weeks at a time, the planet goes backwards which can and often does cause confusion and a bit of chaos in our lives.

When Mercury is retrograde, there are certain areas in our lives that would benefit from taking some time to reflect upon. However, thee are also some things that it would be best to avoid doing.

    Don'ts

    • Make important decisions
    • Sign contracts
    • Buy a car
    • Begin a new relationship
    • Take anything personally at this time
    Do's
    • Take your time reading paperwork/contracts
    • Reflect on your past decisions
    • Have back-up plans for travel
    • Repair your car
    • Re-color your hair
    • Review your financial situation
    • Give yourself and your space a good clearing
    • Release an unhealthy habit
    What You Can Expect
    • Miscommunication - you may be misunderstood and or you may misinterpret other's words and actions
    • Electronics going haywire, computers, telephones, etc.
    • Batteries dying
    • Angry behavior
    • Mistakes
    • Getting lost, tardiness
    • More accidents
    • People from your past may come back into your life
As you can see, there are benefits to the Mercury retrograde cycle. You are being given the opportunity to stop and review your relationships, finances, and the decisions you have made. Your life doesn't have to be put on hold when Mercury is retrograde and sometimes must sign contract or have challenging conversations with others. My advice is to take your time and think before you speak, don't take anything personally, give yourself extra time to get to your destinations and have a few back-up plans in place.

Releasing Ceremony - Make Room For Your Best Year Ever!

Every December, I schedule a date with myself for my yearly releasing ceremony to review all of the major events of the past year – the good and the bad. By releasing the events of the recent year, I am acknowledging my personal path and I am able to put my life into perspective and refocus my goals for the upcoming year.
Releasing Ceremony in 6 Simple Steps
Supplies: All you really need is a pen or pencil, a few pieces of paper and a quiet place where you will have some privacy.
    1. In a private place, find a comfy seat and begin to write down all of the major events of the current year. You will be creating two lists – one is for all of the challenges and disappointments. The other list will list all of your blessings and accomplishments.
    2. Take your time reviewing all of the things you wrote down. Remember, all that has transpired over the past year has all been purposeful for your personal growth.
    3. After you having reviewed 2015, it is now time to release 2015 with love, respect and the knowing that you do not need to repeat the mistakes and that the knowledge you have gained from these circumstances will help you make room for more blessings in your life. Repeat the following statement out loud, “I am grateful for all of my experiences. I use the knowledge I have gained to empower, heal and grow as an individual. I now am ready to release what no longer serves me.”
    4. You may dispose of these two lists however you wish. Sometimes I burn them, sometimes I shred them and sometimes I bury them.
    5. Now it is time to write down your personal goals for 2016. Be sure to not include anyone else’s name on your list. Dream big, don’t settle and really take your time with this step.
    6. Get ready for the most amazing year ever!!!
This activity can also be done with a group of people, but do keep in mind that when you perform any type of ceremony, the other people’s energy and consciousness are added to your own intentions. I personally prefer to do this activity alone. It gives me a chance to be alone with my own thoughts and energy and it is much easier to focus on the things I am releasing as well as bringing in.

    Blessings and Light,
    Laurie

The 5 Most Common Mistakes People Make With Their Meditation Practice

It has been scientifically proven that a regular meditation practice is beneficial to the mind, body and spirit. Each one of us will have different meditation experiences. There will be days where we will experience profound insights during meditation and there will be days where we feel as if we are unable to quiet the mind. I have noticed there are 5 common mistakes people make in their meditation practice which causes them frustration with their own attempts at meditation. If they were to eliminate these behaviors, they would feel much more confident and be at ease when it comes to their own meditation experiences.

    5 Common Mistakes

    1. Meditating On a Full Stomach – A full stomach is not good for meditation because the body feels sluggish, uncomfortable and sometimes may cause you to fall asleep. Falling asleep during a meditation is not the worst thing that can happen, however the goal of meditation is for the mind to be awake and body asleep.
    2. Compare Your Meditation Experiences To Other People’s Experiences – Each one of us receives information differently. By comparing yourself with others you are setting yourself up for failure because each  individual’s experience is meant to be different.
    3. Not Unplugging From The Outside World – By not turning off your ringer, television or going into another room for privacy you will most certainly be distracted and not be able to fully enjoy your experience.
    4. Judge The Length of Your Meditation – Just because you only have 20 minutes to meditate, it does not mean that you are falling short with your meditation practice. Sometimes, 20 minutes is just enough to reset your energy and reconnect with spirit.
    5. Trying To Control Your Thoughts – Thoughts will come and go sometimes they will be about laundry and sometimes the answers to our dilemmas reveal themselves during meditation. It is best to allow thoughts to come and go without judgment. There is no right or wrong way of clearing the mind, simply allow the flow of ideas and thoughts to move through you. This is a natural process, thoughts come in and then leave us as another stream of consciousness flows in.
By avoiding these 5 common mistakes you should notice a difference in your personal meditation practice. Any time spent with the intention of going within is time well spent.
